Concept
The concept for my broadside came to me on the night of the first presidential debate between Trump and Biden, and was influenced by the amount of arguing that was going on, and how much chaos it was creating. My broadside is a visual representation of the two sides fighting each other, shown by the two sections of words crashing into each other and causing more damage than good. It not only represents the presidential candidates, but our country as a whole. So many people seem to be so one-sided in their political beliefs, which is constantly causing some form of conflict between sides and an unwillingness to come to an agreement.
The typical red and blue colors are used to represent the different political parties, but are changed to be lighter and easier on the eyes. For both the color and the layout I wanted to address the topic in a more playful way, but still emphasize how chaotic everything is at the moment.
